super cute gift fair

{What a beautiful day}

Today I took some of my hard earned money and went off to Kamervol Geskenke to buy some cute goodies. I love this gift fair and have been waiting patiently for it since I went for the first time last year. There are so many things to buy and I really had to hold back not to spend too much.

This year it was held on the beautiful Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West and it was the most lovely warm and sunny day to go spend a few hours walking around, looking at everything. This year is definitely a bit better than last, mainly because the area that was used was much larger and not as cramped as last year.

{I love these}

I loved these ceramics from Thia de Vos and bought these cute little bowls.

{Flowermill was there again - love their stuff!}

{Very interesting repurposed furniture by Recreate}

{Woodblock illustrations and Collect Jewellery}

I bought two gorgeous illustrations done on wood. If only I knew who they were by.

I also got two pendents :)

{Such cool stuff from Marisa Girardi}

There were the cutest button crafts by Ruby and Rocket and I bought these...

as well as the vintage flower clips

I could have spent so much money at Rhubarb Room. I'll have to go check out their store.

After all the shopping I went for a bit of a drive on the estate. It's really spectacular.

my birthday week

I've been very lazy to blog this week, but I can't feel too bad as it was my birthday on Wednesday and I took the week off so I tried to stay as far away from my laptop as possible (which is much harder than I'd expected). I was also sick some of the week so my energy levels have been a little low. I have a stack of things I've been meaning to blog about and I've got tons of tabs open in FireFox that have cute pics or interesting designers, so I'll just have to try and catch up soon.

{we took a bit of a dive around camps bay before lunch - what a beautiful day}

I got totally spoilt this week by my amazing hubby. Besides my kindle, he sent me for an amazing spa treatment on Tuesday and then took me out for lunch at Tank on Wednesday. I also got beautiful flowers from my mom and family and some money to buy more kindle books. Yay!

{me working that red lipstick and enjoying a cosmo}

{Yummy food. Tank's sushi is great, but the pasta Rudi had was just as awesome}

{Pretty flowers}

All in all it was a great birthday :)

zenkaya

Isn't this just great. Zenkaya is a modern living space that is delivered fully built and ready to live in. I would so buy something like this. I love the modern look and the appeal of being able to take your home with you should you ever want to move is great. I think it also works out quite a bit cheaper than building or buying a normal house. They're a bit small, but apparently you can order them to your budget and design (within certain parameters).

Once of the smaller units would also be great as an outside office :)

simon's town and a beach wedding

{Our view from the guest house}

The wedding of two of our good friends was this weekend in Simon's Town. We decided to make a whole weekend of it so we drove through on Friday afternoon to spend the weekend in a very cute little self catering cottage called Chine House. It was absolutely lovely, cheap and really cute and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to stay over in Simon's Town.

{The guest house balcony and the main house}

{More of the balcony and cottage}

Friday afternoon we went for a bit of a walk around the place, got a nice bottle of rose and then went to enjoy our view on the balcony of our cottage. Later we went off to the Black Marlin for super, which was really delicious. I've wanted to try the restaurant out since I drove past the turn of years and years ago, but I always thought it was a bit pricey. In fact it turned that the prices were quite average for a good seafood restaurant.

{Simon's Town harbour}

{Pretty blue door next to our guest house}

Saturday morning we went for breakfast at Bertha's in the harbour. It was a perfect day and I was so glad as we'd really been hoping for good weather for Wiehan and Anje's wedding, especially seeing it's been pretty miserable here the last week. We sat in the patio and soaked up the sun.

{The next morning}

{Pretty pink chairs}

{I would have taken more photos of this coffee shop, but we were asked not to :P How rude!}

{In the streets}

At 1 o'clock I went off to where Anje was getting ready for her big day. It was a lot of fun, with champs on the balcony overlooking False Bay, lots of laughter and wedding day advice and just all round good cheer. Anje looked amazing! Every bit the bride she should.

{Champagne on the balcony}

Rudi came to fetch me and then it was off to windmill beach for the ceremony. Anje and Wiehan did such an amazing job with all the decor and it looked absolutely stunning. They even painted these beautiful hearts, which each had a word on conveying the essential things you need to make a good marriage.

{We left our shoes at the entrance to the beach and were all bear feet. Even the bride & groom :)}

{Aren't these hearts stunning}

{Such beautiful details}

The ceremony was beautiful and very moving and the two of them looked so stunning and in love. I wish you two all the happiness in the world!

{The exceptionally happy couple. They look so good together}

{Windmill beach}

{The reception}

{Yummy bree and macaroons}

After the ceremony it was off to the reception at Boulders Beach. Rudi was MC and he did a great job. They had bree and macaroons as their wedding cake and it was the best bree I've ever tasted. I was so moved by both Anje and Wiehan's speeches and I think these two are definitely going to have a long and happy life together.
