my new favourite thing

Yesterday, after much debate, I finally bought myself a Canon 50mm f1.4 lens and I'm completely in love with it already. I really want to get more into photography and, maybe one day, actually do some weddings. So I thought I should start purchasing some new equipment to play with. It's not the best and most expensive 50mm lens out there, but it's a great start and I'm already enjoying the difference it make to my photos.

Here are just a few I've taken so far.

Now I just have to go find some more subject matter as I think our dogs and my hubby are going to get sick of me snapping photos of them every few minutes.

melissa's brunch

This morning Rudi and I decided to go to breakfast at the new Melissa's in Blouberg. We had very yummy Chocolate milkshakes and scrumptious croissant (mine had beacon, banana and bree on. What a good combo). I also took a few photos as I love the decor and colours in the shop. We will definitely be visiting again.

friday fluff :)

It's been such a long time since I felt like sitting down in front of my pc and just doing something for fun. I found this great photoshop tutorial and just had to try it out. And ta da! Doesn't my hubby look dreamy?!? This is how he looks to me all the time (I have constant stars in my eyes).

Ok, enough with the soppiness. Have a great weekend.

cherry pickin'

On Saturday a bunch of us went out to Klondyke Farm in Ceres to do some cherry picking. I wasn't that excited as all the cherries I've ever eaten from grocery stores were pretty bland and tasteless. Not these! They are amazing and we bought 2kgs worth to take home. It's really worth the trip so go check it out.

We drove back through Baneskloof and stopped to take some pics. It really was a lovely day.

christmas is here

I'm not all that big on putting up Christmas decor, but I do love choosing a little corner of our house to put our mini Christmas tree up and display our Willow Tree nativity scene (a beautiful, and I'm sure, expensive gift from my wonderful aunt).

I also had to put up the cute knitted advent calendar, as well as hang some of the gorgeous East of India decorations, that I bought. Now it feel just a little more festive in our house :)
