leather love

As I'm sure you've notices, I'm really getting into, and enjoying, creating my own jewellery. There's something so therapeutic about working with your hands and getting out from behind a pc screen and I am always on the lookout for new and fun items to use in my creating. At the moment, my favourite medium to work with in is polymer clay. I like how easy it is to create simple beads out of it and I love the finish once it is baked.

I was looking for something special to string my new beads on and came across this great website. While I have seen lots of leather in the bead shops here, I was impressed with Endlessleather and their very wide variety of cords and all the different colours, textures, shapes and finishes you can get. I could have bought everything they have, but after narrowing down my list of items to a few choice products, I placed my order and when they arrived on my doorstep I was even more impressed with the quality than I thought I'd be.

Here are the cords I bought:

I also got some clasps that come in both normal and brushed finish.

I particularly like the white stingray pattern round stitched cord and the other colours are just as stunning. The thin round leather cords that I got in orange, pink and mint worked so well with my chunky square beads and I haven't quite decided what I want to make with the thicker cords, but it will definitely be some sort of bracelet so watch this space.

3 year anniversiry

Every year on our anniversary we go away to celebrate and this year we were off Scarborough for a few days. We stayed at Zensa Lodge and it was such a wonderful and relaxed weekend, filled with sightseeing at Cape Point, lunch in Simon's Town and dinner at Scarborough's own Camel Rock.
