A new year and some new resolutions
I'm not really one for new year's resolutions. I don't sit down and think deeply about how I would like to change my life in the next year. My resolutions are usually the same old thing every year: eat less, exercises more, try not to eat so much chocolate. Things usually go well for the first month and then less well for the second and then are completely forgotten about by the third. By the middle of the year I'm beating myself up about not having the will power to stick to my resolutions. But this year I have decided to go about this in a different way. I figure the reason I never stick to my resolutions is that I don't actually want to as they aren't making my life any more pleasant (who can really live without chocolate?!?).
So this year I'm only making resolutions that will make me happy. And this time I think I'm going to have more success sticking to them. So here they are:
1. Living in the cape there is so much to do, but the end of last year was crazy and Rudi and I didn't really get to enjoy this beautiful place to it's fullest. So I have started compiling a list of things to do and every time we aren't sure what do do we can go through the list and choose something. I've already booked our tickets to go see aKing at Kirstenbosch next month :)
2. I'm going to blog more. I don't know if anyone will read my rants, but I want to use this as a way of recording what is going on in my life. With so much happening this year, I think it's a good idea.
3. I'm going to try to do some more crafty creative things. I love being a graphic designer and I find it really fulfilling to create beautiful things for people, but sometimes I feel that I need somewhere else to express my creativity. With all the wonderful and inspirational blogs that I've been visiting the crafting bug has bitten.
Anyway, I'm excited about this new year and looking forward to all the new things it might bring.
