simon's town and a beach wedding

{Our view from the guest house}

The wedding of two of our good friends was this weekend in Simon's Town. We decided to make a whole weekend of it so we drove through on Friday afternoon to spend the weekend in a very cute little self catering cottage called Chine House. It was absolutely lovely, cheap and really cute and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to stay over in Simon's Town.

Friday afternoon we went for a bit of a walk around the place, got a nice bottle of rose and then went to enjoy our view on the balcony of our cottage. Later we went off to the Black Marlin for super, which was really delicious. I've wanted to try the restaurant out since I drove past the turn of years and years ago, but I always thought it was a bit pricey. In fact it turned that the prices were quite average for a good seafood restaurant.

Saturday morning we went for breakfast at Bertha's in the harbour. It was a perfect day and I was so glad as we'd really been hoping for good weather for Wiehan and Anje's wedding, especially seeing it's been pretty miserable here the last week. We sat in the patio and soaked up the sun.

{I would have taken more photos of this coffee shop, but we were asked not to :P How rude!}

{In the streets}

At 1 o'clock I went off to where Anje was getting ready for her big day. It was a lot of fun, with champs on the balcony overlooking False Bay, lots of laughter and wedding day advice and just all round good cheer. Anje looked amazing! Every bit the bride she should.

Rudi came to fetch me and then it was off to windmill beach for the ceremony. Anje and Wiehan did such an amazing job with all the decor and it looked absolutely stunning. They even painted these beautiful hearts, which each had a word on conveying the essential things you need to make a good marriage.

{We left our shoes at the entrance to the beach and were all bear feet. Even the bride & groom :)}

{Aren't these hearts stunning}

{Such beautiful details}

The ceremony was beautiful and very moving and the two of them looked so stunning and in love. I wish you two all the happiness in the world!

{The exceptionally happy couple. They look so good together}

{Yummy bree and macaroons}

After the ceremony it was off to the reception at Boulders Beach. Rudi was MC and he did a great job. They had bree and macaroons as their wedding cake and it was the best bree I've ever tasted. I was so moved by both Anje and Wiehan's speeches and I think these two are definitely going to have a long and happy life together.
